Why do you try to stay fit? First of all  to stay healthy and of course to be able to run around with the kids!

Do you have any fitness goals this year? I would love  to be able to bike to work by the end of the summer.

What  fitness activity do you wish you had more time for? Time what time? Seriously I would love to have more time to bike and do kayaking with my husband.

Do you have a healthy eating tip? Hum difficult for me to choose just one if you know what I mean ;-) An easy one to remember is the 50-25-25 rule... half your plate should be vegetables + quarter  of your plate should be grain products (whole grain is best)  + the last quarter should be filled by a protein.

Favourite fruit: That would probably be homemade strawberry shortcake (the scone type not the cake type) with fresh strawberries from the Potager Eardley in Aylmer.

Favourite breakfast food? PB & J toast is a staple for me weekdays. We love to have a special breakfast on the weekend with lots of fruits and either my husband’s fantastic oatmeal pancakes  or my homemade blueberry waffles.

Favourite movie: La guerre des tuques

Celebrity crush: Louis Morissette... the French speaking will know who he is

Embarrassing TV indulgence: Anything on TLC

Favourite board / card game? I love to play TOCK

Favourite sport to watch? Almost any sports at the Olympics!

What 3 things could you not live without? Antoine, Anne-Sophie, Rosalie

What would we never hear you say?
I have soooooo much time... I don’t know what to do"

Why do you try to stay fit? I have two very practical reasons. First, I don’t  want continually to have to buy a new wardrobe for an expanding waistline. And second, when I run for a bus, I want to have some confidence that I will  actually catch it and not feel like throwing up on the driver when I board (can  you tell I hate waiting for the bus?).

Do you have any fitness goals this year?
At about the 6km mark on one of my regular running  routes, I have the option of taking a relatively short (about 300m) but very  steep uphill trail.  I’d love to be able to run up that hill without  stopping and feel decent enough when I get to the top to continue on with my run  like nothing difficult has just happened.  BTW, I’m nowhere close to achieving that goal!

What  fitness activity do you wish you had more time for? Long nature hikes outside the  city.

Do you have a healthy eating tip? Control what food you bring into your house. Whenever I get a  junk food craving, it makes it more difficult to indulge that craving if I don’t  have the food lying around the house.  If I consistently had potato chips  at home, I’d be 100 pounds heavier!

Favourite vegetable: Favourite vegetable is a Chinese green, which directly translated from what my mother calls it in Cantonese into English is “cabbage ear”.
It’s only available for a few weeks in select Chinese produce markets in early
spring.  It’s the side shoot off an overwintered cabbage plant after the cabbage head is cut off in the fall.

Favourite breakfast food?
At home: lemon meringue yogurt with wild blueberries and vanilla almond granola. Out at a restaurant: corned beef hash with basted eggs.
What I really would eat if it was around:  strawberry rhubarb pie, of course with vanilla ice cream (yup, pie and ice cream even for breakfast).

Favourite movie: The Bridge on the River Kwai – not a wasted scene in the entire
movie.

Celebrity crush?
Yannick Bisson

Embarrassing TV indulgence: It’s  kind of appropriate for this game, but I’m still embarrassed to admit I watch it: The Biggest Loser

Favourite board / card game? Does mah jong count?

Favourite sport to  watch? Curling (is it a sport?) - “HURRY HARD”

What 3 things could you not live without? Some sort of musical outlet (for the past 15 years, primarily that’s been singing in a  choir),  Shorts (I wear shorts pretty much year round), PVR, and I guess the TV goes along with it.

Three things we would never hear you  say?
“So looking forward to the Celine Dion concert.”
“Christy Clark’s just the best premier ever.”
“I’d win a beard/moustache growing contest any day.”

Why do you try to stay fit? I  stay fit because it’s fun! I enjoy playing just about any sport and I love all  things outdoors.

Do you have any fitness goals this year?
I’d
like to learn to play tennis! It’s a sport I’ve never really played before but  I’ve always thought it would be fun.

What fitness activity do you wish you had more time for?  Dance, I used to dance competitively,  sometimes 5-6 days a week, until I had a knee surgery which forced me to stop
for a couple years.

Do you have a healthy eating  tip? After I buy  groceries, I wash, cut, and refrigerate all of my fruits and vegetables so that  I can easily grab them when I need a snack – this way I’m more likely to grab a healthy snack since they’re pre-made.
